Soccer Falls to County College of Morris, 3-1

RANDOLPH, NJ - The County College of Morris improved to 9-6-0 overall with a 3-1 non-conference victory over Northampton on Tuesday night at Sullivan Field.

Ross Gravite of Morris took a cross from Alex Rivera and beat NCC keeper Ronnie Mendizabal (9 saves) at the 30:52 mark of the first half to put the Titans on the board.

The Spartans responded when Josh Houck found Brian Garcia who beat the Titan goalie to knot the contest at 1-1 at the 16:52 mark.

Sam Verdiramo converted a cross from Andres Velasquez-Molano at the 8:26 mark of the first half to put Morris back up 2-1 heading into halftime.

Ray Ramos scored an insurance goal for Morris with 12:50 remaining in the second half to make the final, 3-1.

The loss drops Northampton to 6-9-1 overall (6-4-1 conference) with one game remaining.  The Spartans host Montgomery County Community College on Thursday at 3:30pm in a critical matchup for seeding for the upcoming Region XIX Tournament.
