BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team (6-3) coming off a successful spring trip that saw them go 5-2, will host Broome Community College in their home opener on Sunday March 17th in a doubleheader starting at 1pm. NOTE game was originally scheduled for noon.
The Hornets, coached by Al Kenderes, are off to an 0-5 start, though their record may be a bit misleading as they faced stiff competition in Florida, early in February. Competing in Region III, one of the strongest Division III baseball regions in the NJCAA, the Hornets are a consistent playoff contender.
Northampton, under Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, split with the Hornets last season, winning 11-2 in the first game, but dropping game two 4-3 in 9 innings.
"Broome is always a good test for us," commented Yaguez, "Coach Kenderes and his team are always well-prepared."
