BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Cody Klinger fired a no-hitter against Broome Community College to lead Northampton to 1-0 victory in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday at Spartan Field. Klinger faced the minimum of 21 batters, striking out 12 and walking one, which he then picked off at first base to end the 4th inning.
The Spartans struggled to muster much offense themselves on a cold, blustery day, only managing 4 hits.
Tyler Duplaga (1 for 2) singled to lead off the 5th inning, advanced to second on a walk and then to third on a fielders choice before scoring on wild pitch to give NCC their only run.
Jake Chamberlain ripped (2 for 2) had two doubles to lead the Spartan offense.

In game two, the Hornets salvaged a split, downing the Spartans, 2-1.
Kyle Farnholtz (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing 2 runs and 4 hits over 5 innings while striking out 5 and walking one.
The Hornets scored in the 1st and the 5th innings and then closed the door on Northampton, which had bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the 7th, to escape with the victory.
Mike Agosto (1 for 1) had NCC's only RBI as the Spartans fell to 7-4 on the season.
Northampton is off until this weekend when they host Region III powerhouse Onondaga Community College in a three-game series.
