ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Northampton pitching staff notched their 8th shuout of the season, limiting Lehigh Carbon Community College to 6 hits in a 7-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon.
Cody Klinger (6-3), who earlier in the day was named Northampton's Male Athlete of the Year, went 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, while fanning 7.
Kyle Farnholtz and
Bobby Reddick each came on in relief and held the Cougars scoreless over the final two innings.
Northampton, which led 3-0 after 6 innings, broke the game open with 4 runs in the top of the 9th.
Carlos Urena singled to lead off the inning, stole second and advanced to third on a
Michael Agosto (2 for 4, 2 RBI) single and eventually scored when Agosto stole second base.
Jake Chamberlain (2 for 4, 2 runs scored) and
Tyler Duplaga each singled and
Jon DeJesus reached base on an error as NCC went up 7-0.
Preston Koehler was 4 for 5 with a triple.
