BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Baseball team received the #5 seed for the upcoming Region XIX Division III Tournament and will travel to Cumberland County College this weekend for a best two out of three first round series.

The Spartans, who captured the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) championship with a 9-1 mark and an overall record of 24-11, faced the Dukes in an early season doubleheader; falling 10-1 and 3-0 on March 30th.

Cumberland finished the regular season with an overall record of 32-12, 9-7 in the Garden State Athletic Conference.

"It will be a challenge," stated Head Coach Adrian Yaguez, "Cumberland is a very talented team and they are well-coached."

The winner of the Cumberland / Northampton series will advance to the Region XIX Final Four on May 10, 11, 12 at Gloucester County College.

The Spartans have appeared in the last three consecutive Region XIX Final Fours, advancing to the championship game in 2011.
