CAPE MAY, NJ - Competing in their first-ever Region XIX championship, the Northampton Golf team came away with a 6th place finish, shooting a team score of 741 during the two-day tournament at Cape May National Golf Course.
Troy Heffelfinger earned First Team All-Region honors after consecutive rounds of 79, which put him in a tie for 5th place with Quentin Saxod of Brookdale at 158. Rob Singer of Burlington, the day one medalist, fired a two-day 149 to earn tournament medalist honors.
Burlington County College won the championship with a 644, followed by Morris 664, Bucks 666, Del Tech 735, Ocean 737, Northampton 741, Middlesex 761 and Harrisburg 789.
Cole Haydt finished in 19th place overall with a two-day score of 177 (90, 87),
Kyle Adamonis shot a 202 (103, 99),
Brian Denaro 204 (103, 101) and James Lavendar 235 (123, 112) as the Spartans placed 6th on day one with a 375 and 4th on day two with a 366.
