Tennis Falls to Mercer County, 7-2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Mercer County Community College won all three doubles matches and four the six singles matches to defeat Northampton, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon in Region XIX women's tennis action.

Shelby Toth was victorious for Northampton at #4 singles, downing Kelly Runzer 6-1, 6-1 and Michelle Konczyk defeated Miranda Leone 6-4, 6-4 at #5 singles for the Spartan's two points. 

"I'm really proud of how the girls are playing," commented Head Coach Megan Groh, "everyone is really working hard and I couldn't be happier with their effort."

#6 Singles: Mercer wins by forfeit

#1 Doubles: Gapco & Owusu (M) over Conrad and Potter (N) 8-3
#2 Doubles: Hernandez & Runzer (M) over Maue & Toth (N) 8-5
#3 Doubles: Mercer wins by forfeit

Northampton (1-2) returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Lincroft, NJ to face Brookdale Community College.
