Soccer Gets Crucial Conference Road Victory

MEDIA, Pa. - After suffering three consecutive shutout losses, the Northampton men's soccer team team turned the tide on Saturday, earning a 1-0 conference victory at Delaware County Community College at Johnson Field.

The Spartans got their first goal since September 16th when Josh Houck found the back of the net at the 20:22 mark of the first half, to give NCC a 1-0 lead.  Houck worked a quick give-and-go with Mike Gaudette, who chalked up the assist.

Ronnie Mendizabal earned his first shutout of the season, turning back 3 shots.

The road victory puts Northampton right back in the playoff hunt, as the Spartans improved to 3-3-1 in conference play (3-6-1 overall).

NCC returns to action on Tuesday October 1st when they host Bucks County Community College at 3:30pm.  The two teams played to a 1-1 tie on September 10th at Bucks.
