BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer got off to their second slow start in as many starts, falling behind 1-0 and eventually falling to Delaware County Community College, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Delaware led 1-0 at the half before Northampton tied the contest at 1-1 when
Mike Gaudette found a streaking
Christian Bardales, who knocked home NCC's first goal of the season.
The teams battled back and forth the remainder of the half, but Delaware was able to convert for the second time, when NCC got caught on a counter attack, for what proved to be the winning goal.
"It's very disappointing," remarked Head Coach Joe Heitczman, "I thought we played hard, but we just didn't convert on the opportunities that we had ... too many missed chances and we let Delaware hang around and it cost us."
Northampton, 0-2-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play, returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Bucks County Community College for a 3:30pm contest.
