BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a victory in their inaugural match, the Northampton women's tennis team fell to Ocean County College, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Ocean County took two of the three doubles matches and won all six matches in the singles competition.
Krista Maue and
Shelby Toth teamed up to win at #2 singles, downing Cynthia Vitoli and Heather Kaba, 8-5, while
Meghan Conrad and
Allison Potter fell 3-8 in their doubles match to Allison Dennis and Courtney Russell.
On the singles side, the scores were not indicative of the intensity of matches, as the Spartans batted the Vikings with long rallies and inspired play.

Northampton, 1-1 overall, returns to the courts on Tuesday when they host Mercer County Community College at 4pm.
