MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton Baseball team continued their strong early season play, going 2-1 on Tuesday at the Ripken Experience to improve to 4-1 overall.
In game one, the Spartans jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and cruised to a 5-inning 10-0 victory over Division II Ancilla College.
Richard Llagas (1-0) and
Dylan Pasnak combined on 3-hit shutout and
Ben Hauser went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to pace Northampton.Â
Nick Todero (2 for 3) added 3 RBI as Northampton improved to 3-0 on the season.

In game two the Spartans jumped out early again, plating 6 runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by a Luini Ortiz (2 for 4) double that scored two runs.
Cory Snyder (2 for 4) added a RBI and a double and Josh McClain went 2 for 3 with a RBI to pace Northampton.
Matt Roberts (1-0) earned the win in relief, going 2 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned), walking 4 and striking out 3. Dylan Pasnak earned his first save of the season, allowing 1 hit and no runs over the final 2 2/3 innings.

Game three vs. Triton College was actually the conclusion of a game that started on Sunday afternoon and was delayed due to rain. With the score knotted at 1-1, the two teams battled into the 8th inning, where Triton's Keli Conway drew a bases loaded walk to seal the extra-inning victory.
Zach Sheranko was for 1 for 4 with an RBI and Dylan Tamecki went 2 for 4 with a double to pace the Spartans. Sean Williams (0-1) took the loss, throwing 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run, 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 5. Mike Anthony was the starter on Sunday, going 4 innings, allowing 1 run, 1 hit and striking out 3.
The loss was the first of the trip for the Spartans, who fall to 4-1 overall.
