BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Baseball team improved to 2-0 in Region XIX with an 11-1 victory over Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Park.
The Spartans jumped out early, scoring 3 runs in the first two innings, led by
Ben Hauser's RBI triple, which scored
Josh McClain.
McClain (2 for 3, 2 RBI) singled home
Dylan Tamecki (double) in the 4th inning and knocked home
Tyler Ruoss (2 for 5, 2 RBI) in the 8th inning to give NCC an 11-1 lead and end the game due to the Region XIX mercy rule.
Sean Williams (1-1) earned the victory on the mound, going 6 innings, allowing 1 run and 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4.
Zach Sheranko finished 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored for NCC.
