NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Northampton offense stayed hot as the Spartans recorded 13 hits and scored 16 runs in a 16-0 victory over Bucks County Community College on Thursday afternoon.
NCC jumped out early, scoring 6 runs in the top of the 1st, highlighted by a
Tyler Ruoss RBI double. The scoring barrage continued in the 2nd as
Cory Snyder (2 for 3, RBI) knocked in 2 runs with a RBI single.
In addition to the hot bats, the NCC pitching staff also turned in a dominating performance, as six pitchers combined to limit Bucks to 2 hits.
Tyler Widitz (1-0) earned the victory striking out 2 in one inning of work.
Dylan Tamecki was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored, a double and a RBI, while
Nick Todero and
Mike Agosto each collected 2 hits.
The win moves Northampton to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in Region XIX. Bucks falls to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in Region XIX.
