MEDIA, Pa. - The 8th ranked Northampton baseball team downed Delaware County, 12-6, on Wednesday night to move to 7-0 in Region XIX.
Dylan Tamecki was 5 for 6 with a run scored and 3 RBI and
Josh McClain was 3 for 6 with a double, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI to lead the Spartan offense.
NCC opened the game with 6 runs in the top of the 1st, highlighted by a
Tyler Duplaga (2 for 5) double which drove home two runs.
Zach Kantor (2.2 innings pitched, 2 runs, 0 earned, 3 hits, 2 BB, 4 K's),
Tyler Widitz (5 innings pitched, 4 runs, 2 earned, 7 hits, 2 BB, 2 K's) and
Joe Kaspar (1.1 innings pitched, 0 runs, 0 hits, 2 K's) all saw time on the mound for NCC.
"Overall, I was pleased with our offensive production," remarked Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "however, the 5 errors are something we need to correct ... that will come back to get us in a close game."
Northampton, which improves to 16-4 overall, returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Luzerne County Community College for a single 9-inning conference game.
Delaware falls to 1-11 overall and 1-4 in Region XIX.
