BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Head Coach Paul Miller and his Northampton men's lacrosse team made history on Wednesday night, downing the Moravian College club team, 11-8, for the program's first victory.
Northampton led 7-6 after a wild 1st quarter and then outscored the Greyhounds 4-2 over the next 45 minutes to improve to 1-6 overall (0-4 Region XIX).
Jon Burley was 4 for 8 on faceoffs, had 2 assists and scored a goal, while
J.R. Corlette (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) added a hat-trick and
Ryan Trimmer (Easton, PA/Easton) finished with 2 goals and 1 assist.
Goalie
Anthony Pellicciotti (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) recorded 7 saves in earning his first collegiate victory between the pipes.
Travis Hartranft (Easton, PA/Easton) added a goal and 2 assists and
Zach Hardy (Easton, PA/Easton) scored a goal for NCC, while
Manny Maxwell (Easton, PA/Easton) finished 9 for 15 on faceoffs.
Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Suffolk County Community College (NY).
