CRANFORD, NJ - The Northampton men's lacrosse team opened up Region XIX play with a 29-7 loss to Union County College on Wednesday night.
Ryan Trimmer had 4 goals,
J.R. Corlette scored twice and
Brian Wahlgren added a goal and an assist to lead Northampton.
"We continue to struggle defensively," commented Head Coach
Paul Miller, "especially on our slides ... credit Union, they played hard and took it to us tonight. I saw improvement on our end in regards to ground balls (NCC 46-41) and in a few other areas, but we need to continue to work and improve."
Northampton falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in Region XIX.
Union County improves to 4-4 overall and 2-0 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to action on Sunday when they travel to Del Tech Terry for a Region XIX matchup starting at 12pm. (Game will be played at Wesley College)
