BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Mike Anthony (1-1) threw a complete game 5-hitter, striking out 10, as Northampton downed Lehigh Carbon Community College, 15-2, in Region XIX baseball action on Thursday afternoon at Spartan Park.
Northampton rebounded quickly after falling behind 2-0, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning, sparked by a triple from
Mike Agosto (2 for 3, 3 RBI) and a double from
Zach Sheranko (3 for 4, 2 RBI).
The Spartans added 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, fueled by
Dylan Tamecki's RBI double and a RBI single from
Josh McClain (3 for 4, 5 RBI).
McClain laced a bases clearing double in the 3rd inning as NCC increased its lead to 13-2.
A RBI double from
Tyler Duplaga (2 for 3, RBI) and a RBI single from Sheranko in the bottom of the 6th pushed the score to 15-2 and when LCCC failed to score in the top of the 7th, the game was called due to the 10-run Region mercy rule.

Northampton, ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA poll, improves to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in Region XIX with the victory, while Lehigh Carbon falls to 2-1 overall and 2-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they host Bergen Community College in a doubleheader, scheduled to start at 12pm.
