Baseball Extends Winning Streak to Seven Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team swept Division II Raritan Valley Community College on Sunday at Spartan Park, extending their winning streak to seven games.

In game one, the Spartans pounded out 13 hits and Zach Werner (2-0) allowed 2 hits over 5 innings, striking out 6 and walking 1 as Northampton prevailed 15-2.

Dylan Tamecki laced a 2-run single in the first inning and later scored on a bases loaded walk from Colby Kulig to put NCC up 3-1.

In the 4th inning, Mike Agosto (2 for 3) hit a solo homerun, followed by a RBI single by Josh McClain (2 for 2), a 2-run single from Kulig (2 for 3), a 2-run double from Tyler Duplaga (2 RBI) and a RBI single from Nick Todero which gave NCC a 13-1 lead.

In game two, the Spartans had 10 hits, led by Nick Todero who finished 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored, a double, stolen base and 3 RBI, and downed RVCC, 16-6.

Northampton plated 6 runs in the 2nd inning, keyed by RBI singles from Mike Agosto, Tyler Ruoss (2 for 2) and Josh McClain (2 for 3, 2 RBI).

Sean Williams (2-1) earned the victory, going 4 innings, allowing 4 runs, 2 hits, and striking out 3.

Northampton, 11-2 overall and 4-0 in Region XIX, returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Blue Bell, Pa. to face EPAC rival Montgomery County Community College in a single 9-inning conference matchup .
