Women's Tennis Rebounds to Down Lackawanna

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After a disappointing loss at Brookdale Community College on Saturday, the Northampton Women's Tennis team rebounded on Sunday for a 7-2 victory over Lackawanna College at Northwood Racquet Club.

The Spartans opened the match by sweeping the doubles play, and then winning four of the six singles matches.

Doubles
#1 - Valeria Ceron and Sarina Tufano (Northampton) defeated Brittney Mecca and Victoria Henning, 8-1
#2 - Megan Parsons and Shelby Toth (Northampton) defeated Elisabeth Padula and Briana Franklin, 8-2
#3 - Jasmeet Kaur and Krista Maue (Northampton) defeated Rahkiya Abdullah and Nicole Reuta, 8-0

Singles
#1 - Valeria Ceron (Northampton) defeated Brittney Mecca, 6-0, 6-0
#2 - Victoria Henning (Lackawanna) defeated Shelby Toth, 6-4, 6-2
#3 - Megan Parsons (Northampton) defeated Elisabeth Padula, 6-0, 6-0
#4 - Sarina Tufano (Northampton) defeated Briana Franklin, 6-1, 4-6, (10-6)
#5 - Jasmeet Kaur (Northampton) defeated Rahkiya Abdullah, 6-0, 6-3
#6 - Nicole Reuta (Lackawanna) defeated Krista Maue 7-5, 8-6

Northampton, now 5-2, will travel to Blackwood, NJ on September 27th to face Camden County College.
