ROCHESTER, MN - 2nd seeded Brookhaven College defeated Northampton 3-0 in the opening match of the NJCAA national championship on Friday at the Rochester Sports Center. 

Morgan Barnes (Macungie, PA/Salem Christian ) had 9 kills, Bridget Lozier (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley ) 8 and Jax Babezki (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South ) 7, but it wasn't enough as Brookhaven swept the Spartans 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 to advance to the semi-finals.  

Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) and Megan Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) combined for 23 digs, as the Spartans will now face Monroe (NY) or Central Lakes (MN) at 3pm in the consolation bracket.
