Women's Basketball Downs Camden in Region XIX Matchup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - All ten Spartans in uniform scored at least 4 points as the Northampton women's basketball team downed Camden County College, 81-20, on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.

Zeniyah Sanders (Northampton, PA/Northampton ) and Julia Craig (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) each had 12 points to lead a contingent of five players in double figures, while Jenesa Fields (Brodheadsville, PA /Pleasant Valley) finished with 7 points and a team-high 15 rebounds, including 13 on the offensive end.

"We really had a dominating first half (53 to 3 lead at the break)," commented Head Coach Tara Belfield, "I thought our defense really sparked our transition game and we were able to use our size advantage to dominate the offensive glass."

The Spartans outrebounded Camden 55 to 23 and forced the Cougars into 39 turnovers.

Northampton, ranked 8th in the country in the latest NJCAA poll, improve to 9-2 overall and 7-0 in Region XIX.

The Spartans are off until December 8th when they travel to Middlesex County College to face the Colts at 5pm.
