MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Spartan baseball team dropped their opener on Wednesday to Genesee Community College (NY). 11-8, and then picked up a 2-1 victory over Henry Ford Community College (MI) to even their record at 4-4 on their Spring Trip.

Jake Lisinicchhia was 3 for 4 with a single, double, homerun and 3 RBI in the loss to Genesee, while Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ) added 2 RBI with a 3 for 4 effort at the plate.  The Spartans allowed 7 runs in the top of the 5th inning, after leading 5-4 going into the inning.  

In game two vs. Henry Ford Community College, Zach Werner (East Stroudsburg, PA /E. Stroudsburg South ) picked up the victory on the mound and Dylan Pasnak (Effort, PA /Pleasant Valley ) recorded his 3rd save with a scoreless bottom of the 7th.  Trailing 1-0, Northampton tied the game in the top of the 4th on a RBI single from Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ).  McClain then delivered an RBI single in the 5th, scoring Luini Ortiz (Allentown, PA /Emmaus ) with what proved to be the winning run.

Northampton, now 4-4 overall, will face Southern Maine Community College and Genesee Community College on Thursday, before heading home on Friday.
