MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton baseball team closed out their Spring Trip with two wins on Thursday, downing Southern Maine Community College 8-4 and Genesee Community College, 4-2. The Spartans closed out their trip with an overall record of 6-4.
Walt Roland (Allentown, PA /Central Catholic ) recorded the win against Southern Maine, striking out 7 in 5 innings of work.
Anthony Rodriguez (Easton, PA /Wilson ) was 3 for4 with 2 runs scored,
Frank Angeloni (Westville, NJ/Highland (NJ)) was 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and
Ben Hauser (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks - East ) added a double and 2 runs scored to lead Northampton.
In game two,
Mike Anthony (Audubon, PA /Methacton ) picked up his 4th save of the trip, pitching out of a bases loaded jam in the 7th inning.
Luini Ortiz (Allentown, PA /Emmaus ) was 2 for 3 with a double, and
Seever Hoyak (Bethlehem, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) finished 1 for 2 with a stolen base and a run scored.
Mike Anthony (Audubon, PA /Methacton ) earned the win, striking out 6 and allowing 2 hits in 6 innings.
Northampton returns to action on March 18th when they travel to Raritan Valley Community College for a 3:30pm contest.
