FLEMINGTON, NJ - Despite temperatures that dropped below the freezing mark, the 10th ranked Northampton Baseball team earned their 7th victory of the season with a 13-2 win over Raritan Valley Community College on Wednesday evening at Diamond Nation.
Sean Williams (Belvidere, NJ /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) (1-1) picked up the victory as four pitchers (
Eddy Albertson (Bethlehem, PA /Liberty),
Matt Hassick (Whitehall, PA /Whitehall ),
Joey Deperno (Stroudsburg, PA /Stroudsburg )) combined to scatter 4 hits.
A number of Spartans had good nights at the plate, led by
Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA /Reading Area ), 4 for 4,
Frank Angeloni (Westville, NJ/Highland (NJ)), 3 for 5,
Ben Hauser (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks - East ), 3 for 5,
Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ), 1 for 5 with 2-run homerun, Athlete of the Week
Jake Lisinicchia (Easton, PA /Easton), 3 for 4, Jake Pacheco 1 for 3 with a triple and
Seever Hoyak (Bethlehem, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ), 2 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI.
Northampton broke things open in the top of the 6th with 5 runs, keyed by an RBI double from Lisinicchia and a 2-run double from Hoyak. Â The Spartans closed the game out via the run-rule with a 4-run 7th.
