MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton baseball team opened the 2015 campaign with two victories, downing NJCAA Division I Monroe College and Division II Danville Area Community College on Sunday at the Ripken Experience Complex in South Carolina.
Mike Anthony (Audubon, PA /Methacton ) earned the victory over Monroe, going 5.1 innings allowing 3 hits while striking out 6. Â
Dylan Pasnak (Effort, PA /Pleasant Valley ) earned the save with a scoreless 7th as the Spartans prevailed 4-3. Â
Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ) was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI,
Frank Angeloni (Westville, NJ/Highland (NJ)) was 1 for 3 with a run scored and
Luini Ortiz (Allentown, PA /Emmaus ) was 1 for 3.
In game two vs. Danville Area Community College,
Dylan Pasnak (Effort, PA /Pleasant Valley ) earned his 2nd save of the day, coming on in relief with two outs and a runner on first and getting the batter to ground out to first base to preserve a 4-3 win. Â
Walt Roland (Allentown, PA /Central Catholic ) earned the victory, coming on in relief of starter
Zach Werner (East Stroudsburg, PA /E. Stroudsburg South ). Â
Frank Angeloni (Westville, NJ/Highland (NJ)) was 2 for 3 with a RBI,
Ryan Erskine (Harleysville, PA /North Penn ) was 1 for 2 with a RBI and a stolen base and
Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA /Reading Area ) finished 1 for 2 with 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored.Â
The Spartans, now 2-0, return to action on Monday when they face Danville again at 9:00am and Penn State Mont Alto at 4pm.Â
