BLUE BELL, Pa. - Montgomery County Community College upset 10th ranked Northampton, 4-0, in a 5-inning rain-shortened game on Tuesday afternoon at Lombardo Park.
Montgomery scored all four of their runs off starter
Eddy Albertson (Bethlehem, PA /Liberty) in the bottom of the 4th inning, breaking a 0-0 tie. Â The Mustangs used four singles, two walks and sent nine batters to the plate in scoring their four runs.Â
Luini Ortiz (Allentown, PA /Emmaus ) was 2 for 2,
Jakob Pacheco (Emmaus, PA /Emmaus ) was 1 for and
Anthony Rodriguez (Easton, PA /Wilson ) was 1 for 2 with a double to lead the Northampton offense. Â Chuck Delagol was the winning pitcher for Montgomery, striking out 11 in 5 innings of work.Â
The loss drops Northampton to 11-9 overall and 2-1 in EPAC play, while Montgomery improves to 10-5 / 4-0.
The Spartans will look to get back on the winning track when they host Bucks County Community College in a doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 1pm.
