BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton Baseball got back on the winning track on Thursday with sweep of Bucks County Community College, downing the Centurions 23-4, 17-1 in an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference doubleheader.
Sean Williams (Belvidere, NJ /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) earned the win in game one, improving to 3-1 on the season as the Spartans pounded out 20 hits in downing Bucks County 23-4. Â Northampton skipper
Adrian Yaguez used six pitchers and they combined to scatter 7 hits over 7 innings. Â
Ben Hauser (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks - East ) was 4 for 5 with 2 RBI,
Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ) had a homerun and 4 RBI,
Jake Lisinicchia (Easton, PA /Easton) was 4 for 5 with a double, triple and 3 RBI and
Cory Snyder (Kintnersville, PA /Palisades ) was 4 for 6 with 3 runs scored and 2 RBI to lead the Northampton attack.
In game two
Matt Hassick (Whitehall, PA /Whitehall ) went 4 innings, struck out 6 and allowed 1 run in earning his first victory of the season. Â
Frank Angeloni (Westville, NJ/Highland (NJ)) was 5 for 5 with 7 RBI,
Ben Hauser (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks - East ) aded a double and a triple with 3 runs scored and
Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ) was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI as the Spartans combined for 12 hits.
The Spartans improve to 13-9 overall and 4-1 in Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) play with the sweep, while Bucks County falls to 0-10 overall.Â
Northampton travels to Toms River, NJ to face Ocean County College on Saturday in a doubleheader, with game one starting at 12:00pm.
