PARAMUS, NJ - The 3rd seeded Bulldogs of Bergen Community College jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 2 innings and cruised to a 8-0 victory over Northampton in the decisive third game of the best of three series on Sunday, ending the Spartans season at 23-18.

The Bulldogs chased starter Eddy Albertson (Bethlehem, PA /Liberty) after 3.2 innings, during which he allowed 6 runs, 4 of which were earned, while striking out 4.  Mike Anthony (Audubon, PA /Methacton ) came on in relief and logged 2.1 innings, striking out 6, while allowing 2 runs. 

The Spartans only managed 3 hits in the winner-take-all game, with Jakob Pacheco (Emmaus, PA /Emmaus ), Ben Hauser (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks - East ) and Josh McClain (Tunkhannock, PA /Tunkhannock ) each recording a single.  

Joe Guercio earned the win for Bergen (22-12) wiht a complete game 3-hitter, including 6 strikeouts.

Bergen advanced to the Region XIX Final Four next weekend at Brookdale.
