TOMS RIVER, NJ - After opening the season on Friday afternoon with a loss to the defending national champions from Rowan-Gloucester, the Northampton women's tennis team rebounded with an 7-2 victory over Ocean County College on Saturday.

Valeria Ceron (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom ) was victorious at #1 singles and teamed with Emily Moss (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) to win at #1 doubles as the Spartans swept the doubles competition and four of the six singles matches.

#1 doubles - Ceron and Moss (N) defeated Steinberg and Ethridge (O) 8-4
#2 doubles - Caffrety and Kaur (N) defeated Kawa and Brantly (O) 8-2
#3 doubles - Borger and Mass (N) forfeit win

Singles 
#1 singles - Ceron (N) defeated Steinberg (O) 6-2, 6-2
#2 singles - Moss (N) defeated Ethridge (O) 6-4, 6-2
#3 singles - Kawa (O) defeated Caffrey (N) 6-4, 4-6, 10-7
#4 singles - Brantley (O) defeated Kaur (N) 2-6, 6-6 (7-0), 10-7
#5 singles - Borger (N) defeated Rivera (O) 6-0, 6-0
#6 singles - Medellon (N) forfeit win

Northampton, now 1-1 overall, travels to Newtown, PA on Tuesday to face Bucks County Community College at 3:30pm.
