BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Joey Jacona (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) scored with less than one second remaining in the first overtime to give Northampton a thrilling 3-2 victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Tuesday evening, securing a perfect 12-0-0 regular season in conference play. 

Harrisburg got on the board first, scoring 28 minutes into the contest, as Luis Velasco knocked a rebound in to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead.  Joey Jacona (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) tied the game just 3 minutes later with his 19th goal of the season,

The teams remainded deadlocked, until Northampton's Aaron Timbe (Elgin, IL/Larkin (IL)) found the back of the net to but the Spartans up 2-1 with 27 minutes remaining.  Harrisburg countered 16 minutes later on a lazer from 30 yards out by Ryan Hasharri to tie the game at 2-2. The teams were scoreless the next 11 mintues, sending the contest into overtime and setting the stage for Jacona's heroics.

Jacona took a pass, sprinted ahead, beat a Hawk defender and then slid the ball under the charging goaltender with 0.5 seconds remaining to clinch the victory. The overtime win was Northampton's second against Harrisburg this year, as the Spartans won by an identical 3-2 score in Harrisburg on September 20th. 

The win moves to Northampton to 13-2-0 overall and 12-0-0 in EPAC play. 

Harrisburg falls to 8-6-1 overall and 6-5-1 in the EPAC. 

The Spartans will now wait to find out their match up for the Region XIX playoffs, which begin on Saturday.  Seedings and pairings will be announced on Wednesday October 19th.
