SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - Despite not playing their best, the Northampton men's soccer team found a way to win on Tuesday afternoon, dowing Lehigh Carbon Community College, 4-2, at Johnson Field.
"We just didn't come out with the energy needed to compete at a high level," commented Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "unfortunately, we have been making somewhat of a habit of that lately, but I do credit the guys on staying focused and finding ways down the stretch to get the win."
Joey Jacona (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) had two goals, while
Mohamed Aisset (Allentown, PA /William Allen ) added a goal and an assist to lead the Spartans.
Igor Malaquias (Brazil /Colegio Ateneu do Espirito Santo) added his first collegiate goal and
Bob Bradford (Bethlehem, PA/Northampton ) had an assist for Northampton.
Kenan Meral (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) made 7 saves to earn the win in the goal.
Northampton improves to 9-2-0 overall, 9-2-0 in Region XIX and 9-0-0 in conference play.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 2-12-0 overall, 2-9-0 in Region XIX and 2-8-0 in conference.
Ths Spartans are now off until Tuesday October 11th when they travel to Montgomery County Community College.
