ROCHESTER, MN - The Northampton women's volleyball team dropped their opening match at the 2016 NJCAA National Tournament, falling to Eastfield College (TX), 13-25, 15-25, 14-25 on Saturday at the Rochester Regional Sports Arena.
Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) had 11 kills and 10 digs,
Bridget Lozier (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) notched 3 kills, 5 digs and 2 blocks,
Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) had 19 assists and
Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA /Pleasant Valley) recorded 24 digs for the 6th seeded Spartans.
The loss drops Northampton to 30-2 overall, while 3rd seeded Eastfield improves to 25-4.
The Spartans will now face 7th seeded Jefferson Community College at 4:00pm in a consolation semifinal. The two teams met earlier this year with the Spartans winning 2-1 in a best of three match at Onondaga Community College.
