Men's Lacrosse Drops Season Opener to Cecil College

North East, MD - The Northampton Men's Lacrosse team opened the 2016 campaign with a 26-8 loss at Cecil College on Wednesday afternoon.

Things looked promising early for the Spartans as they jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Cecil (1-3) quickly rebounded and took a 7-2 lead after the first quarter and coasted to their first victory of the season.

"Our inability to clear and transition from defense to offense really prevented us from finding a rhythm," stated Head Coach Joe Lodato, "we learned alot about ourselves today and we will get back to work and prepare for Ocean County on Saturday."

Mark Moser (Easton, PA /Easton ) scored 3 goals and had an assist and JR Corlette (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom ) and Alec Lloyd (York, PA/York Catholic) each had a goal and 3 assists. Goalie Cameron James (Hawley, PA/Wallenpaupack) made 13 saves, but Cecil was able to put 39 shots on cage, many from close range.
