BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team opened up the Region XIX portion of their schedule with a dominating 17-1 victory over Bucks County Community College on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Park.
Tristan James (Towanda, PA/Towanda Area) earned the win on the mound, improving to 2-0 on the season, going 3 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run and striking out 7.
Liam Grande (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley ) pitched 2 innings, striking out 3 and allowing one hit, while
Carlos Solis (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) pitched the final two innings, striking out 5.
Angel Lopez (Pennsburg, PA/Perkiomen School ) was 3 for 5 with a double, triple and 5 RBI and
Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland ) finished 3 for 4, including his 4th homerun of the season and 3 RBI.
Collin McGeary (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic ) was 3 for 5 and
Cody Herestofa (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley ) was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and a double.
Northampton improves to 10-3 overall, 1-0 in Region XIX and 1-0 in EPAC play
Bucks falls to 4-6 overall, 0-1 in Region XIX and 0-1 in the EPAC.
The Spartans return to the diamond on Thursday when they travel to Media, PA to face the Phantoms of Delaware County at 3:30pm in a 9-inning EPAC matchup.
