BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton freshman pitcher Tyler Forbes (Athens, PA/Athens Area ) has been named EPAC Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office today. 

Forbes went 2-0 last week, throwing 12 innings, giving up 0 runs, allowing 4 hits and striking out 21 batters.  Forbes threw a complete game shut-out vs. the College of Southern Maryland in Myrtle Beach and then came back and threw 5.2 innings of shutout baseball in a 5-0 victory at Onondga Community College on Saturday. 

The Spartans are currently 9-3 overall and open up their home season on Tuesday March 29th when they host Bucks County Community College at 3:30pm.
