BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The College of Southern Maryland used a 5-1 run over the final 13 mintues of the second quarter to pull away from Northampton, jumping out to an 11-5 halftime lead and cruised to a 20-8 victory on Friday afternoon.
JR Corlette (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom ) scored 4 goals,
Mark Moser (Easton, PA /Easton ) added 3 and
Alec Lloyd (York, PA/York Catholic) had 1 goal, 2 assists and 3 groundballs to lead the Spartans. Goalie
Cameron James (Hawley, PA/Wallenpaupack) made 8 saves.
"It was a back and forth game early," commented Head Coach
Joe Lodato, "but we struggled to gain an advantage in the midfield and eventually CSM's pressure was too much for us to overcome."
The Spartans, now 0-4 overall, travel to Del Tech on Sunday to face the Hawks at Wesley College at 12pm.
