SCRANTON, Pa. - The Northampton baseball team won their 13th consecutive game, downing NJCAA Division II Lackawanna College 15-2, on Wednesday afternoon at Falcon Park.
Liam Grande (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley ) combined with
Carlos Solis (Allentown, PA/William Allen ),
Tristan James (Towanda, PA/Towanda Area) and
Tyler Caraway (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades ) to throw a 3-hitter for the Spartans. Grande (2-0) got the win, going 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, striking out 4.
The Spartans hit 4 homeruns on the day, led by
Cody Herestofa (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley )'s grand slam.
Collin McGeary (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic ),
Adam Hennessy (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) and
Aaron Gentry (Reading, PA/Exeter) also each homered, while
Ryan Nazario (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) was 3 for 5 with a triple.
The wins moves Northampton, ranked 9th in the country, to 18-3 overall.
Lackawanna falls to 16-12 with the loss.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Cipriano Park to face the Centurions of Bucks County Community College at 3:30pm in an EPAC single 9-inning conference matchup.
