BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton freshman catcher
Angel Lopez (Pennsburg, PA/Perkiomen School ) has been named EPAC Player of the Year, as announced today by the conference office.
Lopez, who is batting a team-best .427 with 10 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homeruns and 30 RBI, is one of six Spartans honored by the conference. Joining Lopez as All EPAC honorees are;
Tristan James (Towanda, PA/Towanda Area),
Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland ),
Collin McGeary (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic ),
Ryan Nazario (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South ) and
Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA/Reading ).
James is 5-1 with a 0.81 ERA, Hooker has a team-high 8 homeruns and 29 RBI, McGeary leads the team with 32 RBI, Nazario is batting .391 with 3 triples and Severino has 16 steals and a .359 batting average.
The Spartans, who captured their 4th EPAC title in 5 seasons, are currentlly 25-8 and receiving votes in the latest NJCAA national poll.
Northampton hosts Camden on Saturday in a Region XIX doubleheader starting at noon.
