BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Three Northampton pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter as the Spartans downed Luzerne County Community College, 12-2, on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Park to win their 9th consecutive game.
Liam Grande (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley ),
Kyle Arganbright (York, PA/Hempfield ) and
Carlos Solis (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) combined to throw 7 innings of no-hit ball, striking out 12.
Angel Lopez (Pennsburg, PA/Perkiomen School ) was 3 for 4 with a double, stolen base and 3 RBI,
Jake Pacheco (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) was 3 for 4 with a triple,
Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland ) was 2 for 4 with a triple, and
Kyle Buchman (Orefield, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) had a triple, 2 stolen bases and a RBI.
The Spartans improved to 14-3 overall, 3-0 in Region XIX and 3-0 in conference play with the victory.
Luzerne fell to 5-6 overall, 3-3 in Region XIX and 1-1 in conference play.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they host EPAC-rival Lehigh Carbon Community College at 3:30pm in a 9-inning conference matchup.
