BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Baseball team advanced to the Region XIX Final Four with a 4-3 victory over Middlesex County College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans, who led 4-1 entering the 9th inning, held off the Colts to clinch a berth in the Region Final Four at Cumberland County College on Friday May 13th.  The Spartans will face #1 RCGC at 11am at Vineland High School.  #2 Brookdale and #3 Cumberland will face off on the other side of the bracket in the double-elimination tournament.

Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland ) was 1 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, Angel Lopez (Pennsburg, PA/Perkiomen School ) was 1 for 3 with a double, stolen base and RBI and Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA/Reading ) finished 2 for 4 with a triple to lead the Spartan offense.

Tyler Forbes (Athens, PA/Athens Area ) got the win on the mound, improving to 5-2, going 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 11.  Tyler Caraway (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades ) earned the save, throwing 2.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.

Northampton, seeded 4th, improves to 27-11 overall.

Middlesex, the #5 seed, finishes 29-16.
