VINELAND, NJ - The Northampton Baseball team was eliminated from the Region XIX Final Four falling to #1 seed RCGC, 6-2, and 3rd seeded Cumberland, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Gorman Field.
GAME ONE vs. RCGC (Lost 6-2)
The Spartans opened the Final Four vs. #1 seed Rowan College @ Gloucester County, falling 6-2.
Brendon Caraway (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades) took the loss on the mound, going 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs, 10 hits, while striking out 6.
Angel Lopez (Pennsburg, PA/Perkiomen School ) was 1 for 2 with a double and a RBI,
Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland ) was 1 for 4 with a RBI and
Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA/Reading ) finished 1 for 4 with a run scored and a stolen base. The Spartans finished with 2 runs on 6 hits, while RCGC totaled 6 runs on 12 hits.
GAME TWO vs. Cumberland (Lost 3-1)
In game two,
Kyle Arganbright (York, PA/Hempfield ) took the tough-luck loss, going 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits with 7 strikeouts.
Roanderson Severino (Reading, PA/Reading ) finished 2 for 4 with a double,
Collin McGeary (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic ) was 1 for and
Liam Grande (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley ) was 1 for 3 to pace the Spartan offense which managed 5 hits.
The Spartans, who returned to the Region XIX Final Four after a two-year absence, finish the season with an overall record of 27-13.
