ROCHESTER, NY - The 10th ranked Northampton volleyball team opened the 2016 campaign with a 3-0 showing at the Monroe Invitational on Saturday, downing Corning Community College (3-0), Monroe (3-1) and Jamestown Community College (3-0).
Match One vs. Corning Community College (25-14, 25-18, 25-22)
Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) paced the Spartans with 15 kills, while
Emily Petrat (Bethlehem, PA /Freedom ) had 10 kills and 7 digs. Â
Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA /Pleasant Valley) recorded 15 digs while
Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) notched 27 assists and 6 digs.Â
Match Two vs. Monroe Community College (25-15, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16
Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) recorded 15 kills in match vs. 8th ranked Monroe CC, while
Bridget Lozier (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 11 kills and 8 digs. Â
Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA /Pleasant Valley) had 19 digs and 3 aces,
Brianna Bair (Ephrata, PA/Ephrata ) had 12 digs and setter
Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) recorded 30 assists.Â

In the Spartans third match of the day,

Rachael Caywood (Bath, PA/Nazareth ) had 4 kills,
Megan Crimi (Nazareth, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) notched 11 digs and
Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) racked up 25 assists as the Spartans finished the day 3-0.Â
The Spartans (3-0) will open Region XIX play on September 1st when they travel to Ocean County College to face the Vikings at 6pm.Â
