BUTLER, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team advanced to the championship match of the Butler County Community College Tournament on Saturday, before falling to the hosts 25-22, 19-25, 13-15.  The Spartans went 3-1 on the day, defeating Allegany College of Maryland, Lehigh Carbon Community College, and Jamestown Community College.

Match One vs. Allegany College of Maryland - Won 2-0 (25-20, 25-6)
Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) had 7 kills, Emily Petrat (Bethlehem, PA /Freedom ) recorded 5 kills and Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) notched 18 assists, 1 ace and 5 digs. 

Match Two vs. Lehigh Carbon  - Won 2-0 (25-6, 25-10)
Rachael Caywood (Bath, PA/Nazareth ) recorded 4 kills, Abby Monks (New Tripoli, PA /Northwestern Lehigh ) 3 kills, and Molchan had 17 assists.

Match Three vs. Jamestown - Won 2-0 (25-16, 25-17)
Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA /Pleasant Valley) had 15 digs, Megan Crimi (Nazareth, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) 9 digs, Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) 6 kills and Emily Petrat (Bethlehem, PA /Freedom ) added 5 kills and 10 digs. 

Match Four vs. Butler - Lost 1-2 (25-23, 19-25, 13-15)
Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) had 14 kills and 10 digs and Bridget Lozier (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) added 10 kills and 8 digs, while Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) notched 36 assists.  Megan Crimi (Nazareth, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) and Kalli Walling (Saylorsburg, PA /Pleasant Valley) combined for 35 digs.  Katrina Shelly (Mountville, PA /Hempfield ) was named to the earned All-Tournament team. 

Northampton, now 7-1 overall, will now travel to Schnecksville, PA to face Lehigh Carbon on September 8th.
