SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - Sophomore guard
Dom Moser (Easton, Pa./Easton ) scored 30 points to lead the Northampton women's basketball team to a 59-47 victory over Lehigh Carbon Community College on Thursday evening at the Cougar Dome.
Moser (9 rebounds) had 19 points in the first half as the Spartans built a 32-20 advantage at the break.
Nicole Robinson (Bangor, Pa./Bangor ) chipped in with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists, while
Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, Pa./Upper Dauphin ) added 6 points and 10 rebounds and
Lamani Bruce (Bath, Pa. /Northampton ) finished with 8 points.
Northampton never trailed in the contest, as they won the EPAC opener for both teams.
"I thought we played with a much greater sense of purpose tonight," stated Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "our intensity has not been great, but tonight I thought we did a good job staying focused and playing hard for 40 minutes."
The victory improves the Spartans to 2-4 overall, 1-1 in Region XIX and 1-0 in conference play.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in Region XIX and 0-1 in the EPAC.
The Spartans return to the hardwood on Saturday as they travel to Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA to face Penn St. Lehigh Valley at 1pm.
