BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Trailing by 9 points with 7:46 remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Northampton Women's Basketball team outscored Montgomery County Community College by 11 points over the remainder of the contest to earn a hard-fought 53-51 victory on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Dom Moser (Easton, Pa./Easton ) scored a team-high 19 points and had 7 steals and
Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, Pa./Upper Dauphin ) added 18 points and 4 rebounds as the Spartans remained undefeated in conference play at 2-0.
"We struggled at the foul line tonight (43%)" commented Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "that is an area that we need to improve on if we want to close out games. Overall it was a solid effort, now our focus will shift to Harrisburg."
Nicole Robinson (Bangor, Pa./Bangor ) added 9 points and
Taliyah Barnes (Philadelphia, Pa. /Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter ) recorded 8 assists for the Spartans.
Northampton improves to 3-5 overall, 2-1 in Region XIX and 2-0 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 3-5 overall, 3-4 in Region XIX and 2-1 in conference play.
The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Harrisburg Area Community College to face the Hawks. Tip-off is set for 5:00pm
