BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Despite shooting only 25% from the field, Rowan College at Gloucester County pulled out a 57-55 victory over Northampton on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Roadrunners finished 18 of 71 from the floor, including 2 of 15 from downtown, but converted 19 of 27 free throws to earn the important Region XIX victory, Â "We just didn't make the plays we needed to make to win," exclaimed Head Coach
Tara Belfield, "RCGC outrebounded us, we committed 23 turnovers and shot 7 of 20 from the foul line, so to have a chance at the end to tie the game, says alot about our defensive effort."
Taylor Turrentine (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North ) led Northampton with 22 points, while
Deana McKeller (East Stroudsburg, PA/E. Stroudsburg South) had another double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Â
Northampton falls to 13-5 overall and 10-3 in Region XIX.
RCGC improves to 17-6 overall and 12-4 in in Region XIX.
The Spartans are off until February 9th when they travel to Rowan College at Burlington County for a 5pm showdown with the Division II Barons.Â
