BLACKWOOD, NJ -
Colton Hooker (Warrington, PA/Upper Moreland) hit a 2-run triple to key a 4-run 4th inning to help lead the Northampton Baseball team to an 8-4 victory over Camden County College in their Region XIX opener on Tuesday afternoon at Banks Field.
Hooker finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBI,
Christian Del Toro (Trujillo Alto, PR/Perkiomen School ) was 3 for 5 with 2 RBI, and
Tyler Melko (Knoxville, PA/Cowanesque Valley) was 3 for 5 with a double to pace the Spartan offense, which pounded out 14 hits.
Tristan James (Towanda, PA/Towanda Area) earned the victory, moving to 2-0 on the year, going 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and striking out 6.
Tyler Caraway (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades) came in relief, throwing 2 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 2.

Northampton improves to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in Region XIX, while Camden falls to 6-9 overall and 0-4 in Region XIX.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Syracuse, NY to face Onondaga Community College in a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
