BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Baseball team downed Luzerne County Community College, 10-0, on Monday afternoon to sweep their best of three series, 2-0, and advance to the Region XIX Final Four, May 20-22 in Vineland, NJ.
The 2nd seeded Spartans, who won the first game of the series 8-0 on Sunday, jumped on the #10 Trailblazers early with 3 runs in the 1st inning and never looked back in the run-rule shortened victory.

Brendon Caraway (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades) got the victory with 3 innings of work, allowing no runs on 1 hit while striking out 2.
Liam Grande (Trappe, PA/Perkiomen Valley) and
Tristan James (Towanda, PA/Towanda Area) combined for the final two innings of action, allowing no hits and striking out 4 of the 6 batters they faced.
Angel Lopez (Santurce, PR/Perkiomen School) hit his 12th homerun of the season in the 3rd inning, while
Michael Ferrara (Cresco, PA/Pocono Mt. East) was 2 for 2 with a double, stolen base and 3 RBI.
Cody Herestofa (Brookhaven, PA/Sun Valley) finished 2 for 2,
Tyler Melko (Knoxville, PA/Cowanesque Valley) was 1 for 2 with a double and a RBI and
Zane Vargason (Milan, PA/Athens) was 1 for 2 as the Spartans finished with 9 hits.
The Final Four appearance is the 6th in nine seasons for the Spartans under Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez.
Northampton, now 32-5 overall, will face 3rd seeded RCGC (43-12) in their opening game of the double-elimination tournament on Saturday in Vineland, NJ. The Roadrunners advanced by knocking off 6th seeded Middlesex, two games to none in their bests of three series.
