BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Volleyball team hosted their first Region XIX opponent of the season on Thursday as the Jersey Blues of Brookdale visited the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center. 

The hosts made short work of their guests from New Jersey, dispatching Brookdale in straight sets; 25-18, 25-17, 25-8.

Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, PA/Upper Dauphin) had 10 kills and 1 block, Emily Petrat (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom ) recorded 6 kills, 2 solo blocks and 1 ace, Taylor Womack (Effort, PA/Pocono Mt. East ) had 6 kills and Alysce Molchan (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) registered 33 assists to lead Northampton.

The 10th ranked Spartans improve to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in Region XIX, while Brookdale falls to 2-6 overall and 2-5 in Region XIX. 

Northampton is off this weekend, but will return to action on September 26th when they travel to Scranton, Pa. to face Lackawanna College.
