BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team won their 8th straight game on Thursday evening, downing Montgomery County Community College 56-35 at the Mustang Events Center.
Dom Moser (Easton, Pa./Easton ) scored 33 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and handed out 4 assists for the Spartans, who improved to 6-0 in conference play.Â
"Our shooting was an issue again tonight," lamented Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "but once again we were able to be aggressive on the defensive end and hold them to 21% shooting from the field, block 9 shots and record 11 steals. That was the difference, because they really hurt us on the boards tonight (Montgomery outrebounded Northampton 56-37), but we were able to make a couple runs and pull away."
Nicole Robinson (Bangor, Pa./Bangor ) added 11 points,
Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, Pa./Upper Dauphin )Â recorded 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots and
Krista Cappetta (Nazareth, Pa/Nazareth) had a game-high 5 steals.Â
The Spartans are now 10-5 overall and 7-1 in Region XIX.Â
Montgomery, which was led by Maddy Brodish with 18 points and 21 rebounds, falls to 8-8 overall, 8-5 in Region XIX and 7-2 in the EPAC.
The Spartans remain on the road for Saturday when they head to Newtown, PA to face Bucks County Community College at noon.Â
